Science projects

The Pelagic RAC continuously collaborates with scientists from National research institutes to secure that its recommendations are science-based as much as possible. Pelagic RAC members often participate or observe in ICES meetings as well (see other events).  In addition, the Pelagic RAC engages into EU-funded research projects, which have a specific - and for the Pelagic RAC relevant - scope.

The Pelagic RAC is currently involved in:

GAP2 MYFISH ComFish
Gap2: Connecting science,
stakeholders and policy
Maximising yield of fisheries while balancing ecosystem, economic and social concerns
Aiming to improve
communication of fisheries research results to stakeholders

In the past, the Pelagic RAC has been involved in the following projects:

jakfish mefepo

Judgement and Knowledge in Fisheries
Involving Stakeholders

(case study on Western Baltic herring)

MEFEPO: aiming to show how ecosystem-based fisheries management can be made operational in Europe
